Usually involved in the front end design, with a "typical" condition being that of a leadership role through either Schematic Design or Design Development, and then a monitoring role through the CD and CA phases.

600 Fairbanks Court combines European design, intelligent architecture, smart floor plans, and an outstanding location. The exterior building design of the condominium tower is contemporary and transparent, featuring a dramatic curved glass curtain wall overlooking Fairbanks and Ohio Streets in downtown Chicago and Lake Michigan.
The site was comprised of two parcels, including a once-empty parcel on the south half and an existing three-story building on the north half. In order to develop an effective apartment plan floor plate, the upper 29 floors of the new apartment building cantilever three meters (9ft) over the existing three-story building. The tower contains a contemporary lobby highlighted by five meter (16ft) ceilings, 28 residential floors containing 227 luxury condominiums, and 11 stories of parking behind a directional expanded metal mesh screen wall with 215 spaces. The units are developed with efficiently laid out floor plans, private balconies, and high-end amenities.
The design of the interior is minimalist with exposed concrete and floor-to-ceiling glass that allows for maximum visibility and increased transparency. The taut enclosure defines a simple and elegant solution for high rise living. All units incorporate outdoor spaces which interconnect the different living spaces and are inset to enhance and emphasize the modern look of the building.
Units are laid out so that the kitchen becomes an integral and participatory part of the living area for today’s lifestyle. In addition to the open floor plan, the building provides its residents with interior materials that embrace today’s modern aesthetic of natural hardwood floors and the raw exposure of its concrete structure. Building amenities include the dramatic glass lobby, a media/conference room, green roof terrace, fitness center, home theater, sun deck and lap pool.
