While designing 155 North Wacker, the development team strived to create unique space at the lobby level while incorporating space planning efficiencies for a 2,500 square meter (27,000 RSF) floor plan for tenants with exceptional views, ultimately situating the building 15 meters (50ft) at a minimum from all of its neighbors, providing exceptional light and air.
Tenant-desired amenities and sustainable design elements were also at the forefront of considerations for the building. At lobby level, the building emphasizes continuity of space while highlighting its surroundings with a distinct exterior 14 meter (46ft) tall arcade that provides pedestrians with a protected area while showcasing the building’s entrance. This arcade leads pedestrians through the walkway and then opens to a 836 square meter (9,000 sq ft) public park, which will tie the building to its surrounding area while creating an architecturally significant corridor along Randolph Street that extends eastward to Millennium Park. The park will be developed and maintained by the building and donated to the City of Chicago.
